U = U

What U=U Means

If you’re living with HIV and your viral load is undetectable, you cannot transmit HIV to your sexual partners.
Not sometimes.
Not maybe.
Not “low risk.”
Zero risk.

The Science is Clear

Antiretroviral therapy can reduce the virus to levels so low that it becomes untransmittable. This has been confirmed by multiple major international studies.

To this day, there has never been a single documented case of HIV transmission from someone with an undetectable viral load.

What This Means for Real Life

  • HIV-positive people can have sex without passing on the virus.
  • Serodiscordant couples can love freely, start families, and even breastfeed without fear of transmission—even when the mother is HIV-positive.
  • Stigma is outdated — science isn’t.
  • HIV is no longer a barrier to intimacy, relationships or desire.

Knowing my status is undetectable gave me my freedom back — the freedom to love without fear and to live without shame.
